Sport & play in Stuttgart
There are lots of clubs, schools, groups and other providers for all kinds of sports in Stuttgart. We have developed a microsite to make it easier for citizens to find the right sports offer.
The microsite for the sports & exercise offers of the city of Stuttgart presents all sports offers, sports providers, sports events as well as sports and play areas. Many offers, one microsite:
-
Help in the search for suitable sports & exercise offers
-
Easy, intuitive filtering
-
Emotional appeal to citizens
-
Presentation of information on the individual offers
For the microsite, different filter options were developed for each of the four areas of sports offers, sports providers, sports events and sports and play areas. This was based on many different offers and information, all of which needed to be filterable in their own way.
Based on the concept, a design was developed that appeals to and activates many age groups. The variety of sports should also be reflected in the design to a certain extent, resulting in a cheerfully colorful design.Welcome Center
Welcome to Stuttgart! Since 2014, new arrivals have had a contact point both offline and online that offers guidance on dealing with the authorities and answers all questions about living in Stuttgart. It is aimed at new citizens from Germany as well as international newcomers and students.
In addition to tips on finding a job and accommodation, all administrative procedures are broken down into useful use cases, available German courses are listed and even information on taxes and social security contributions is provided. In short: an arrival guide that provides all the information you need in a clear and concise way!Quick information on various questions
MOSAIQ provided concept and design support for the project in the form of a website. The aim was to provide an overview of the most important questions for the various target groups as quickly as possible. Students as well as professionals, Germans and international citizens should find answers here. Requirements for the design: modern, simple and yet strikingly different. This is how the homepage was created, with access via different tiles, just as there are numerous different citizens.
Fast implementation with close coordination
The implementation was carried out in short agile sprints. The focus was on a responsive website that could be accessed from anywhere. With numerous images, the homepage whets the appetite for life in Stuttgart. It was also important for the editors to have a lot of editorial freedom to integrate adjustments quickly and independently.
Christmas tree of children's wishes
Every year around Christmas time, there is a large Christmas tree in the town hall on which at least 1,500 wishes from socially disadvantaged children are hung. Citizens were able to choose one or more wishes from the tree to fulfill them. The gifts, worth a maximum of €30, were bought by the citizens, wrapped and handed back to the town hall together with the wish list.
Targets of the digital Christmas tree
- Digitization of the Christmas wish campaign
- Christmas tree of children's wishes in the form of a website
- Project goal: fulfillment of at least 1,500 Christmas wishes
Due to Covid-19, the Christmas wish campaign could not take place on site at the town hall in 2020. Fortunately, we were able to provide support and develop a digital Christmas tree of children's wishes so that the children could be made happy at Christmas despite coronavirus.
The planned microsite should come as close as possible to the experience that citizens have with the real Christmas tree. Everyone should have the opportunity to look at several wishes and then choose for themselves which wish should be fulfilled.
The Stuttgart Christmas fairy tale
When it became clear that the campaign could not take place in the town hall due to the coronavirus, things had to move very quickly. Only 6 weeks remained for the concept, design and development of a microsite. First, a concept was developed that came close to an emotional experience similar to the real Christmas tree in the town hall. Users select the wish lists on a large Christmas tree in the form of an illustration, look at them and decide whether they want to fulfill them or not.
The design was a particularly fun and varied task for us. As this is a theme for children, it was allowed to be childishly Christmassy, but should also appeal to adults. The result was a wonderful Christmas winter landscape in Stuttgart. In addition, each individual wish was assigned an individual illustration so that the wishes on the digital tree were also individually recognizable.
The technical implementation was carried out as an individual web application in the Symfony framework. On the one hand, the tight schedule required a very agile and immediate development of the portal, and on the other hand, editorial management of the content in a CMS was not necessary.
The short-term online campaign became a recurring opportunity! Since 2020, the site has been continuously developed so that the campaign can take place in hybrid form every year. This allows citizens who would otherwise not be able to make it to the town hall to take part in the campaign.
A different kind of support for MOSAIQ
We can also print!
As a digital agency, we rarely come into contact with print projects. But it does happen from time to time. As in this case. In addition to the website, we were also allowed to design a poster in the same style to advertise the campaign directly at the town hall.
The MOSAIQ Christmas elvesSince the Christmas 2020 project, our customers no longer receive Christmas presents. Instead, we have decided to support this great project for children in Stuttgart by fulfilling 100 wishes every year. Numerous employees are out and about in the weeks leading up to Christmas to buy and wrap the presents.
PARTICIPATION PORTAL
Citizen participation is becoming increasingly important for open and vibrant cities. With the participation portal, Stuttgart offers citizens the opportunity to find out about current projects and actively contribute their own ideas and wishes.
Our contribution to this project: a sophisticated concept and a user-friendly design that invites Stuttgart residents to get involved - with consistently positive feedback.A sophisticated overall concept that activates citizens to get involved
The aim was to develop an overall concept that not only has a logo and an appealing design. The focus was also on a clear presentation of projects in different phases and quick access to the relevant projects in the individual districts. After all, the aim is to encourage every citizen to find out more and then get actively involved.
Open communication is an important component for Stuttgart
With the portal, the city of Stuttgart wants to promote online communication with its citizens. Every citizen can interact in different phases:
-
Get information about renovation and construction projects
-
Inform yourself about upcoming dates
-
Citizen participation can be encouraged
-
Join project groups
-
Propose your own ideas and suggestions
During the implementation, great importance was attached to responsive presentation and accessibility. The result is impressive.
