MOSAIQ Insights

Interview with Anna

Teamleader UX

What is your story

After leaving school, I wanted to do something with media and a Bachelor of Arts. I didn't know what exactly. But I definitely didn't want to go to university. So I looked at a university directory with all the courses in the field of media and made a list of the courses I liked best.

The focus was then on Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, because I was already with my current husband, who lived in Stuttgart.

I ended up in Furtwangen and studied media conception.

In my third semester, I ended up at MOSAIQ during my internship semester. And what can I say: I've been here ever since. From an internship with a focus on graphics, I moved on to design and then strategy. At some point, I became a team lead and I'm still super happy in my role.

What makes you special, what are you particularly good at and what only you contribute to the agency?

I recognize problems and am super solution-oriented in everything I do. If something isn't working, I immediately think about possible solutions. This ranges from UX tasks to internal processes and folder structures.

Taming creative chaos! There is often chaos in my head because so many thoughts are happening at the same time and my desk often looks exactly like that. What I am good at, however, is bringing creative chaos into structures and working with it in a meaningful way. This is particularly helpful for brainstorming sessions.

It would be cool to be able to fly very fast without any aids. As I don't live in Stuttgart, I could also see my colleagues spontaneously on site.

Good food always helps. Otherwise, write tickets, keep to-do lists and simply take a break when you need to. Turning on a Disney playlist and singing along really loudly also helps - at least when working from home.

I work for a company that does advertising. You know catalogs, brochures, flyers and posters. You put all the information together on a website. My team makes sure that:

  • you can find everything you are looking for
  • the information is well presented
  • everything looks good

I myself don't work so much on the projects themselves, but I organize the team and make sure that my team has the best possible working conditions.

IF YOU COULD SPEND A DAY WITH A COLLEGE:IN - WITH WHOM AND WHY?

I would want to swap places with Marcel. On the one hand, to experience everyday life in development up close and to develop a deeper understanding of it. Secondly, because Marcel is extremely quick-witted and incredibly funny. It certainly never gets boring!

Team office or team home office?

Definitely team home office. I enjoy the freedom of working from home and no longer live in Stuttgart. But I do miss my colleagues, so I look forward to team events all the more!

What are your biggest challenges in everyday life?

I see it as my job to ensure that my team can work well. At the same time, I also work on my own tasks, which are super varied. Not losing track of everything is sometimes not so easy.

What did you think after your first week at MOSAIQ?

That was so long ago that I can't remember. But I really liked it right from the start and I remember how proud I was of my first self-designed post, which was still posted on Facebook at the time.

WHAT IS THE MOST FUN THING YOU HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AT OR WITH THE AGENCY?

There were quite a few. The last time I was really on the floor laughing was just before the cabin weekend. I was testing a game with our FeelGood managers that was to be played at the hut weekend. In the game, 2 people are tied together by their hands in a tangle. The aim of the game was to somehow untangle themselves without loosening the ropes. At some point, we were lying on the floor laughing because we might have been a bit stupid.

Is there a special ritual or tradition in the office that you would like to share?

Going out for vegan currywurst with my dear colleague Thiep is actually a must when I'm in Stuttgart.

Other than that, I think all the team events are great. Whether it's the weekly beer at four, which sometimes turns into a games evening, the annual cabin weekend or the Christmas party. They're all part and parcel of MOSAIQ and are all great traditions in their own right.

Spend time with your colleagues! Extend the meeting for a few minutes and simply chat a bit, laugh together or even get upset about something together. That helps in all situations. I usually do this online, but it still helps.

This probably sounds like a lot of clichés, but that's the first thing that came to mind: The togetherness, the appreciation and the development opportunities.

Every person is a very important part of MOSAIQ and can develop personally, on the job and in the team. In everything we do, we receive great appreciation from Glenn and Sebastian.

Baymax would certainly fit in well with the team with his loving and super funny nature and provide some laughs. As a robot, he could certainly help us with the UX testing of websites, analyze users and also support us with optimizations.

If our office were on a desert island, who would be the leader?

Sebastian. He usually keeps a cool head and remains calm. If necessary, he can also make an announcement, but usually remains very diplomatic. Those are certainly all good qualities in a situation like this.

What's next for you?

What adventures, missions and plans do you have for the future?

I also see myself at MOSAIQ in the future and would like to develop myself and my team further. It's important to me to be happy in my job and to enjoy working. This is very important to me, not just for myself, but also for my team. I want to continue working on this and inspire others to focus on what is really important in life and what makes them happy.
