MOSAIQ Insights

Interview with Patrick

Frontend developer

What is your story?

After graduating from a secondary school with a technical focus, I then went to grammar school with a focus on IT. During my studies, I then focused on IT and media. I then worked at various agencies specializing in online and media. You could almost say that this was a very clearly goal-oriented career path.

At my previous agency, my boss at the time had to leave the agency and founded a new agency with the former graphic design department. Months or years later, I had my old boss on the phone at work by chance. We had a little chat and I then told him that I was planning to change agencies.

A few weeks after the phone call, an ex-colleague (spoiler: she works at my old boss's new agency) wrote to me on WhatsApp asking if she could pass on my number. I don't think she mentioned the reason at the time and I didn't ask any further, but simply replied: "Sure, you can".

A short time later, Sebastian from MOSAIQ wrote to me on WhatsApp to ask if I was looking and if I wanted to come by. I came by, we chatted and I've been with MOSAIQ ever since. That's the short version. Some nuances have been omitted in favor of TL:DR.

IS THERE A SPECIAL RITUAL OR TRADITION IN THE OFFICE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

In the past, when I still had to commute every day, I always had a fresh butter pretzel from the bakery for breakfast (I'll refrain from making a socially critical comment on the price development of a single butter pretzel at this point).

Teleport: To save commuting time. That would be good.

Don't start the working day too early with a pretzel/muesli (without coffee). Complete the first tasks with Spotify and headphones. Eat a good, sensible lunch (without coffee). Skipping lunch usually leads to a semi-good day. And then continue the rest of the day with headphones and Spotify (without coffee) to concentrate on your work.

A good mix of tasks that you really want to do and tasks that belong more in the "work off" category. Chatting with colleagues always helps too.

IF YOU COULD SPEND A DAY WITH A COLLEGE:IN - WITH WHOM AND WHY?

Probably with a social media colleague, just to reaffirm for myself that I want to have as little to do with social media at work as possible. Funny "bubbles" usually arise. But I'm curious to see how a generation that gets most of its news from TikTok will develop.

Team office or team home office?

Team home office, because commuting time is lost time.

What tricks do you have up your sleeve for coping with the sometimes stressful day-to-day running of an agency?

Prioritize and not everything has to be done immediately or today.

What do you value most about MOSAIQ?

If you approach the management with concerns and needs, they make every effort to change things for the better or offer solutions. Usually quite straightforward too!

What did you think after your first week at MOSAIQ?

Phew, it's been years since that first week at MOSIAQ, but I'm thinking something along the lines of: "It's nice that several people are working on a project here and that we can create something good together."

.

How would you explain your work at MOSAIQ to your 90-year-old grandma?

"I do something with this internet."

IF OUR OFFICE WERE ON A DESERT ISLAND, WHO WOULD BE THE LEADER?

It's not the most creative answer, but I would say: Sebastian.

What are your biggest challenges in everyday life?

Getting the important and correct information that is necessary for the task at hand

Which fictional character do you think would do best in our team?

Don't know if they would do best on the team, but funny characters would be like: Stromberg from Stromberg, or April Ludgate and/or Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation.
